Other medications may be related to doxycycline, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal products. Consult your health care practitioner about all the medications you use and other medications that start or stop.

2- Anticoagulant

Since tetracyclines have been shown to reduce plasma prothrombin activity, patients with anticoagulant therapy may need to adjust their anticoagulant dose.

Penicillin

As bacterial agents may be exposed to penicillin acid, it is advisable to prevent taking tetracycline with penicillin.

Oral Retinoids

It has been reported from pseudotumor cerebri (intracranial hypertension) with concomitant use of isotretinoin and tetracyclines. Since both oral retinoids, such as isotretinoin and aitrine, and tetracyclines, mainly minosylcinnus, can increase intracranial pressure, co-administration of retinoid and tetracycline.

Methicillorur

Tetracycline and methoxy fluoride have been reported to cause lethal toxicity in the kidney.

Low oral antidiabetic medicines

Doxycycline may be low in the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. To prevent congestive failure, women are advised to use the second method of contraception during the treatment with doxycycline.

Antioxidants and iron preparation

Tetracyclines are absorbed by bismuth sulfate, proton pump inhibitors, antioxidants containing aluminum, calcium or magnesium, and iron-containing drugs.

Barbiturates and anti-epilepsy

Barritories, carbamazepine and phenytoin reduce the half-life of doxycycline.

Pharmaceutical / laboratory interactions

Increasing the concentration of urine catecholamine levels due to interference with the fluorescence test may occur.

3 - doxycycline should not be used with minerals (such as calcium or iron) or with pepto bismol.Similarly,it is recommended that doxycycline will not used at the same time as alcohols, magnesium or calcium alcohols such as Mylanta, Maalox, Tums or Rolaids, because food such as medicines will put doxycycline in the intestines and prevent it from absorbing it.

Doxycycline may be encountered with penicillin and should not be combined with penicillins. It may also reduce the effect of oral contraceptives. The combination of tetracycline and penthrane may reduce renal function.

Phenytoin (divalentin), carbamazepine (tritolol) and barbiturates (such as phenobarbital) may increase the metabolism of doxycycline, making it less effective.Doxycycline may increase the activity of warfarin (yantown, coumadin) and cause blood thinning in the blood, resulting in excess bleeding and the need to reduce the dose of warfarin.
