How to use Metronidazole?

Pharmaceutical Considerations - Must Be Followed:

Anaerobic bacterial infections

Extended-release: 750 mg once daily and daily for 7 days

pregnant women

500 mg oral twice a day or 7 days OR

250 mg orally three times a day x 7 days

Loading dose: 15 mg / kg (IV); should not be more than 4 g per day

Maintenance dose: 7.5 mg / kg oral / intravenous (IV) (more than 1 hour) every 6 hours and 7-10 days (or 2-3 weeks in case of severe)

Side effects of Metronidazole
