How to use dilaudid?

Read the pharmacist's guide to the drug before you start taking hydromorphone and every time you fill it in. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions.

Take dilaudid with your mouth as done by your doctor. You can take dilaudid with or without food. If you have nausea, you may take dilaudid with food. Ask the doctor or pharmacist for other ways to reduce nausea (for example, swipe down for one or two hours).

If you use this form of liquid, carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device / spoon. Do not use a spoon because you may not have a proper dose. Disregard the dose of hydromorphone fluid in mg (mg) with a dose in milliliters (ml). Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you are not sure how to check or measure the dose. If your fluid is a suspension, take the bottle before each dose.

The dose is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not increase your dose, take more medicine or prescribe it for a longer time. Stop medication right when the medicine works.

Pain medications are more prone to pain. If you wait for the pain to get worse, the medicine may also work.

If you have permanent pain (such as cancer), your doctor may require you to take long-term antidepressants. In this case, the drug may be used for sudden pain (breakthrough). Other analgesic drugs (such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen) may also be prescribed. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for the safe use of hydromorphone with other medications.

Dilaudid may cause possible reactions, especially if you are regularly taking it for a long time or at high doses. In such cases, if you suddenly stop taking dilaudid, symptoms of cracks (such as restlessness, irritation eyes, runny nose, nausea, sweating, muscle aches) may occur. Your doctor may reduce your dose gradually to avoid withdrawal reactions. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for details, and report whenever you report a withdrawal response.

This may not be the case when it is used for a long time. Talk to your doctor if this medicine works well.

Althoug it helps many people, dilaudid sometimes causes addiction. This risk may be higher if you have a drug problem (such as overdose or drug / alcohol abuse). Take dilaudid exactly as it is prescribed to reduce the risk of addiction. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for details.
