What is lyrica?

Lyrica (pregabalin) is an oral drug that is chemically connection to gabapentin (Gralise, Neurontin). It is used for curing pain caused by neurologic diseases such as postherpetic neuralgia as well as seizures. It also is used for curing fibromyalgia.

This Drug is used to cure pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes, shingles (herpes zoster) infection, or spinal cord damage

LYRICA (pregabalin) capsules are injected orally as capsule having 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 225 and 300 mg pregabalin with lactose monohydrate, corn maize and talc as capsule hard capsules as extinct material. Colloidal silicon dioxide is a producer that may exist in the shell of the capsule. Printed ink includes chlactoacid, black iron oxide, propylene glycol and potassium hydroxide

The capsule shell includes gelatine and titanium dioxide. In addition, Orange capsule shells include iron red oxide, and white capsule shells include sodium lauryl sulfate and colloidal silicon dioxide.

The mechanism of action of pregabalin is unknown. Pregabalin binds to calcium channels on nerves and may modify the release of neurotransmitters (chemicals that nerves use to communicate with each other). Decreasing communication between nerves may contribute to pregabalin's trace on pain and seizures.

How to use Lyrica?

Read the drug usher and, if available, the Patient Information brochure provided by your druggist before you start using pregabalin and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions regarding the information, consult your doctor or druggist.

Symptoms of overdose

There is no specific antidote for overdose with LYRICA. If indicated elimination of medicine may be effort by emesis or gastriclavage; observe usual precautions to maintain the airway. Drugs that may interact with lyrica

This drug may make you vertigo or drowsy or blur your sight. Alcohol or weed can make you more vertigo or drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness or clear Sight until you can do it safely. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Talk to your doctor if you are using weed.

Older adults may be more irritables to the side effects of this medicine, especially drowsiness, dizziness, unsteadiness, and confusion.
