How to use Tecfidera?

Before you start using dimethyl fumarate and, if you need to refill, read patient information if you have a pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions.

Take tecfidera with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day. Your doctor usually directs you to start this low dose dose for the first 7 days and to direct your dose after 7 days. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. If vomiting occurs, taking tecfidera with food may reduce these side effects. Using simple aspirin (without flaking) 30 minutes before taking tecfidera may help prevent scaling. Ask your doctor if this is the right treatment for you.

Spill the capsule capsule with a capsule, do not spray or drink. Doing this can release all drugs at a time and increase the risk of side effects.

Use tecfidera regularly to get the most out of it. To help you remember, take it every day at the same time.

Tell your doctor if your condition worsens.
